I was reading the paper the other day(ok close your mouths I know your jaw just dropped to the ground! Yes I read the paper) and some idiot is trying to pass Act1 so that same sex couples, unmarried couples living together and singles can not adopt or be foster parents in the state of Arkansas! That is pure BULLSHIT! There is no reason any of those couples should not be able to be parents. (as long as they pass the criteria)
These couples want a child and has a home to offer them, but apparently the idiot would rather them be in group homes! Children are precious gifts so lets vote NO so that these children that need homes can go and find a loving home rather it be two men, 2 women, a happy couple that chooses not to get married or a single person that wants to be a parent, but does not want a significant other in their lives.
So please remember to vote November 4th and vote NO for Act1

This will be a long post and I have a yummy recipe to share with you, so sit back relax and enjoy this will be a picture heavy post.
We now have a lovely gas grill and WOW I love grilling!!
John and I were watching a burger grilling competition on Food Network. A lady made a stuffed burger that looked delish, well I decided I would try and make a stuffed cheeseburgers.
I took two pounds of ground beef and made patties that were on the thin side and a bit larger than normal.
On one patty I added 2 triangles of Laughing Cow Cheese
I fried up some bacon and chopped it into small pieces.....
Add the bacon.....
Then place a second patty on top of your first patty and season with Webers gourmet burgers seasoning...
Now season the other side of the big burger....Mash the two patties together just a little bit. Now throw those bad boys on the grill.
Be sure and cook them slow, because you are cooking two patties. Then melt some American cheese on them if you wish.
Instead of using ketchup I used this yummy stuff.....
This is what the finished product looked like...
Holy shiznat! It was about the best burger I have ever tasted... Yes you can now call me Bobbette Flay!!!
One of the officers I work with has a new baby boy. I made a diaper cake for the little munchkin. I am not happy with the way it turned out, because I did not have enough blue ribbon to use and had to use yellow, so to me it just looks a little off, but here it is anyway.
I found a place that does personalized pacifiers, are they not the cutest!!
On the 4th of July at the lake with the family for Hunter's 11th birthday. Yep I said 11th birthday!!!!
I took Salem with me to see if she would swim and OH MY GAWD she loved the water.....Why yes I have pictures of it to share....
Isn't she a cutie!!
The birthday boy got a cell phone for his birthday and boy was he so excited!!!! This picture is of him calling his papa sitting across from him. I LOVE this picture because I have not seen my dad smile like that since his stroke last August.
A little history about the hat that Hunter is wearing. He has wore that hat every birthday since his first birthday!
Since I have a cupcake addition I told Deanna that I would make the cupcakes for his birthday. I had found the cutest cupcakes that looked like red, white & blue fireworks. So Brandon brought me a 5 gallon bucket of buttercream frosting and we were off to decorating the cupcakes. I made over 36 so I was thankful that Brandon was there to help me.
This is the original cupcake. I was trying to copy.
This is how my cupcakes turned out.
So now I am going to do a little bragging. I have to say these two are the most beautiful kids I have ever seen..
I am also very lucky to have a beautiful and amazing sister!
That is about all I have to share for tonight. I will be working on a project for Deanna in the next few weeks, so I will share it with you when I am finished with it.
until next time
xoxo
WOW I have been MIA for awhile. Ya I know bad blogger!!!!!! I promise to do better on keeping up with my blog....
I am going to take you back to April. These are the easter baskets that I made for Hunter & Mary Grace. What turned out to be a simple project turned into a HUGE mess, but I love the end results.
Hunter's was a soccer theme and Mary Grace's was a girly theme.
Do you remember me posting about this guy?
Well he is my roommate now, along with his cute little weiner dog Abby....Salem loves having a little buddy to play with. Now I know when John & Abby move out I will have to buy Salem a dog, because I know I am not entertaining enought and Pagan the cat is not very sociable.
I went to the dentist in February and whilst the doctor was doing a full dental exam, he found a white spot on the bottom of my tounge that was questionable. First off they did a dye test and if the spot turned blue then it was very questionable. Well guess what my tongue looked like a smurf!! So on May 5th I went to the oral surgeon for a biopsy of the white spot. YES they cut into my freaking tongue! I had sick stitches and let me tell you it was the worst pain I have ever experience in my life. It has been almost 3 weeks and it is still sore and swells up!!! YES I am sick of biting my tongue. The results came be benign, however he did say that the was some changes in the cells and he thought it could come back.. WHAT I am not going through that pain again....
The first part of May we had some wild storms move through the area. I was at work when one of them blew through and wow the wind was strong..On my drive home from work that morning, the closer I got to my house the more it looked like a war zone. There were trees everywhere. I pull onto my street and this is what I saw minus the guy bent over cutting up the branches. I promise I was taking pictures of the debis in the road and not his bum..
Then I turn into my driveway and see this.
So out of my mouth came HOLY SHIT!!! Then my brain starts racing Johns car. Then the thought of the corner of my house is missing and my dog is loose. So I call mom and yell at her to get to my house quick there is a tree in it...I run in the house wake John up and tell him there is a tree on his car. I run back outside and there is my mother with her mouth gaping wide open. I walk down the drive to look to see how bad the damage is to his car and my house. This is what I saw.
Can you believe the tree did not hit my house nor John's car!!!! YEAH so I had a little bit of a dramatic episode.
John and I hit the highway and took a weekend trip to Dallas. We were gone two days and it was really nice to get away. We start out by going about an hour out of our way so that I can have some tacos from this place
Saturday we started out by eating at
UMMMMM YUMMMM, why don't we have one in NW Arkansas. After we stuffed our faces we set of to go shopping at
I have never been to an Ikea and have always heard what a great place it is. So John and I waddled around the store and I picked up a few things. The store was ok not what I thought it was going to be.
For some reason I have had a cupcake fetish for the last few months and have been hearing about Sprinkles a cupcake store in Califonia that has cupcakes to die for. Well they have just opened a store in Dallas, so I had to check it out.
The cupcakes were good, but not as good as all the hoopla has been about them. I did pick up two cute little cupcakes for Abby & Salem.
So to end this huge post. I have to share my toy I purchased this week.
After it informed me that I was a fat ass and reminded me to brush my teeth before I went to bed it was actually alot of fun.
I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
xoxo
I know it has been awhile since I have updated and if I want to keep my limbs than I guess I will update. Yes I am a little afraid of Betsy!
My sister and I took Hunter and Mary Grace to see the broadway play Annie. It was really really cute. I took a few pictures with my cheapo purse camera so a few of them are rather blurry!
Not sure why it will not center!!!!!! GRRRRR
Ok Now I am going to do something sappy! I have to share two sexy boys in blue that both have a special place in my heart!! The first picture is of Robert and no he is not a park ranger in the first picture!
Isn't he just adorable. I miss him so much and wish he would move back to NW Arkansas instead of living in deliverance country!!!!!
The next picture is John...Isn't he just a cutie pie as well!!!
I have a few people that I can call a TRUE friend and these two are on that list. I don't think they know how much they mean to me. Even though they both give me grey hair! They risk their lives everyday to keep the communities they work for safe. I am very proud of them!!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
OK phew off the soapbox....2008 has started out so far so good, however I am ready to move to Mexico where it is alot warmer than it has been here!!!! This weekend I am hopefully going to come up with some creations and will be able to share some pictures next week. Until then...........
Have a great weekend.
xoxo
This lens is what is making me salivate!! So I am thinking I want this lens. Not have to have it not need it but WANT it!!! There is a difference in my world! So ever since I was a little girl my dad always said SAVE your money. Ok dad but what does save money mean, because that is not really in my vocabulary! So I came up with four ways of earning and SAVING my money, so I can purchase this lens and make all the Kodak moments crisp and clear. Here are my options.
1. I could sell hot chocolate or coffee on the street corner for 25 cents a cup. Well the lens is $314. So at 25 cents a cup I would have to sell 1,256 cups of hot chocolate or coffee...
2. I could prostitute myself.
3. Stay away from the scrapbook store.
4. Quit smoking.
I do believe I will go with options 3 & 4 because I would not make anything prostituting myself and I would freeze my ass off selling the hot chocolate/coffee. So in about 4 or 5 months I should be able to afford this lens..........OOOOO I can not wait. So dad I think I have finally learned the meaning of SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! I know your are proud of me!
XOXO
